Autumn & Winter 2017

Hallo Everyone!
Here again with you and our Newsletter about our  activities and events in chronological order.

Surprising November!

A Workshop with a Live Musical Composition Performance of Buddhist Man-tras and instruments, given at the Heart to Heart House, in Bussum Holland. It was something really different and so special; dedicated to the free spirit and embodied by intuition and thoughts derived by the Buddhist iconogra-phy; under Tashi’s instructions, the enthusiastic   participants  created Art-works beyond any expectations!

Tashi  visited Prague in Czech Republic where he gave a successful -as al-ways- workshop and a Live Painting Performance,  accompanied by the BBC reporters,  who filmed him for documentary purposes.
Later, on the 26th, Tashi Norbu and  Team were invited at the meeting of the Members of Tibet Parliament in Exile  in Amsterdam, Holland. Tashi Norbu,  Ten Ngawang   and Leela Skitsa on behalf of the Museum of Contemporary Tibetan Art in Emmen, presented their goal and mission for the preservation and innovation of Tibetan Art and Culture to the world. Tashi pointed out the importance of  introducing to the Tibetan Communities new mediums -such as contemporary Art forms-  to draw the attention of the new generation of Tibetan born in exile and abroad;  he referred to his plan to give in 2018 workshops at Schools  in Dharamsala/India (not only abroad),  in co-operation with the educational  Dept., of the Tibetan Government  in exile. Except of the current exhibition referred to His Holiness Dalai Lama of Tibet  Three Main Commitments in life   -the promotion of human values,  the pro-motion of inter-religious harmony and the preservation of Tibet’s Buddhist culture and natural environment.

Inspiring December!

On 9th Dec. at the Museum of Contemporary Tibetan Art, amidst an inspiring audience, Tashi again, gave a Live painting performance  and created an amazing Musical Composition. Together with the Tibetan Lama Choenyi, Tashi made mantras recitation, accompanied by selected Musicians Martin Jean Stubbs (Piano), Estee Makampo (Violin) Israel  Castello (viola de gam-ba). The recitations of Tibetan Buddhist Mantras were embraced with great joy by the inhabitants of Emmen and Museum friends. Some of them  came all the way from Prague  to watch the Performance Tashi painted the "Serenity", a remarkable landscape which elevated  minds, and inspired awe and fascination to the audience.
Tashi’s motivation to paint Christmas with a Buddha filled with beautiful Christmas colors. What a wonderful way to wish the whole world  Merry Christmas  and a Happy Peaceful New Year!

Joyful January!

In January 5th to 7th,  there was a visit by Mrs Nicole M. Crawford Curator, from Wyoming University USA who serves on the Board of the Association of Academic Museum and Galleries. Her aim was to  visit our Museum of Con-temporary Tibetan Art, before she flies  back to India, Dharamsala, for the Ti-bet Museum there. She gave a lecture to our audience. shared with us all her knowledge and experience about Galleries and Museums.
On the 19th Tashi and Team travelled to the capital of Czech  Republic, Brno, in order to participate  In the Co camera Cestovzatelském Festival.  Motivated by the big clock, a Landmark sculpture of the main square of the city, Tashi at his Live Painting Performance depicted an image suggesting a Buddhist  Ti-betan Stupa, yet  the Pillars of Tibet, as well as  the Shiva Lingam in the Indi-an culture, the symbol of fertility.  His piece of Art accepted with enthusiasm the society of this city,  is embracing the western and eastern culture  trans-forming  time at Brno’s clock into Buddha’s speech!
On the 24th Tashi Norbu and Team visited Leitomischl  (85 ml east of Prague) in the Czech Republic. The Mayor's of the town  invited Tashi to the "Smeta-nova Litomyšl" Festival of next year, for a live painting performance and ex-hibition of his Art. The Festival will be held at the Chateau-type Castle com-plex of Leitonisch  which is A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tashi is hon-ored that he will take part to this festival of the historical town; It is Musical and Art festival attended by 30,000 Peoples annually. His Art Exhibition will start on June and it will stay there up to the end of touristic season on September.

Loving February!

Nowadays we are in the preparation of a great event and live Painting Per-formance  held at the Museum on 14th Feb., on St. Valentine’s day.  West meets East, at the Museum of Contemporary Tibetan Art in Emmen.  Tashi Norbu motivated by the shape of the heart of the West, a symbol of love and romance, would depict the exotic Buddha of  East, which is seen as a symbol of wisdom and spirituality. An Artwork which is a classical example of the persistent use of the symbol of the heart on St’ Valentine’s Day, embracing a time of year that is historically associated with love and fertility and steeped in legend and mystery,  in the concept of love!
Workshops will be given this month in Emmen for the inhabitants of this city by Tashi and more Live Painting performances are scheduled in the follow-ing months, such as the one  of March 18th.  A Tibetan Buddhist Painting Workshop which will be given in Koningen Building, Holland, combined with Tibetan Buddhist Rituals (mantra recitals), music, and a live painting by Tashi.
Thank you all of you again, my dear friends, for your time to read our news-letter.  Please stay "tuned" to our events which become more and  more exciting every day!
